Starting School September 2023
If you have a child who is due to start school in September 2023, please take a look at our virtual tour by Treagust and Co, below. You can also see a welcome from our previous Headteacher, Mrs Partridge, a video talking you through our Reception classrooms and some frequently asked questions.
We will be arranging group tours of the school after October half term with Mrs Whiffin our new Headteacher since January 2023, please call to make an appointment. We will also have an open evening for prospective parents for people who cannot visit during the day. This will be on Wednesday 15th November at 6 - 7pm.
The application process is dealt with by the admissions team at West Sussex and Hampshire County Council, you can apply if your child is due to start primary school in September 2023.
Apply online between Monday 2nd October 2023 and Sunday 14th January 2024.
Please Apply to the County to which you pay your Council Tax, whether this is West Sussex or Hampshire.

It is very important that forms are submitted by the cut-off date - this year the cut-off date is Sunday 14th January 2024.
Southbourne Infant School's capacity is 60 pupils per year group meaning that we have capacity for 180 children across our three year groups.

In-Year Applications
Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. Applications must be made to West Sussex County Council.
Transition to Junior School
During the autumn term of Year 2, you will receive a letter explaining the transition procedures for moving to the Juniors. Please note that these forms need to be completed online and that there is also a deadline for these applications.
